Producer/Director, Director of Photography - Vox (Thrillist)

Shooting Portfolio

First Class was a series I made for Vox's brand Thrillist.  The series was made to test whether the brand's audience would respond to expanding the topic areas the brand could cover from "food and fun" into related but slightly more serious subject matter.

I worked as Producer/Director to help frame the major ideas behind the series and served as Director of Photography to establish the look of the show. I established the show with a slightly edgier style to match the tone of the guests' conversation and the personalities of the show's guests, and I had the restaurant set rearranged into a roundtable environment so that the audience could feel like they were a part of the conversation.

At the time, the series was also one of the largest productions that the brand had ever made, with four a cameras, a full G&E crew, about 20 people on set total, and two months of pre-production.
